1. Jim Corbett Museum and Corbett Falls

Apart from the jungle, there’s less you can cover in Ramnagar. For this, we suggest that you travel 30 km to reach Kaladhungi. 2 km west to it and you’ll reach Choti Haldwani. There is the famous Jim Corbett Museum where you can find various belongings of the famous hunter. This building was his home for most of his life and was converted into the museum post his death. And guess what? Corbett Falls are roughly 5 km away. Make sure you don’t miss this attraction, either.

From here, Nainital is just 30 km. You save half the distance and add the fun.

2. Garjiya Temple

We have already discussed the Garjiya zone. What if we told you that, at a distance of 8 km from that, there’s a temple of the same name? Yes, you got it right. It is the Garjiya Devi Temple situated along the Kosi River.It is an important birdwatching site because of the river and forests. You can expect to notice water birds like heron and kingfishers in this area.

3. Nainital

For tourists, Nainital is as beautiful as other hill stations. It has various points of capturing scenic beauty.

There are seven tals or lakes in and around Nainital. All these lakes are considered to be very pious. Nainital is named after its famous lake of the same name. It also has the famous temple of Naini Devi. Devotees like to offer eyes made of silver and gold on the goddess. There’s also another famous temple 46 km away named Mukteshwar which is very ancient.

Apart from Nainital, you can also plan to visit the other six lakes. Boating in each of these lakes would render you stunning views. For your information, each of these lakes are at a considerable distance from each other. For each of these lakes, you need a complete day to actually enjoy your ride.

 

4. Naukuchiatal

Naukuchiatal or “lake of nine corners” is a small hill station, near Nainital Town in Nainital district of Kumaon, Uttarakhand, India. Naukuchiatal is a lake where it is believed that if you see the nine corners of this lake at once, you’ll attain Moksha.

 

5. Kamal Tal

Kamal Tal is covered with lotuses during specific seasons, so is its name.

Apart from these, you can visit Bhimtal, Sattal, Khurpatal and Garudtal lakes.

There are many villages and hill stations such as Ranikhet nearby where you can grab a better understanding of the Kumaoni heritage.

 

6. Ghorakhal’s Temple

Ghorakhal’s Golu Devta Temple is just 24 km from Nainital. You’ll find every inch of this temple covered with bells of different sizes which devotees hang as an offering when their wishes come true.
